I used alcohol markers and a my Copic multiliners 0.05 and 0.2.
"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."
Happy Easter to all, to me this message and this Holy Day is the most important in the Christian world because represents the promise and the fulfillment of the plan of the Lord for our eternal happiness. The atonement of Christ makes possible for all
human beings to repent and try to be better every day.
To celebrate this happy occasion in history, I made this painting of the Garden Tomb.
Watercolor in arches watercolor paper 300 lb 18X23 inches.
Have a wonderful Easter Sunday
A friend of mine lost her husband at the beginning of the year and a mutual friend suggest to make something to cheer up her and her family so she came with the idea to make a list of little things that makes people happy in the every day basis.
I made this Mixed Media canvas with acrylics, paper, ink, markers, acrylics mediums and glossy accents. Canvas 36" x 24"
And this is the result.
I got the inspiration from a picture on pinterest and then I add my part. First I glue pieces of a book I used for this purposes and add a light wash of blue acrylic painting I add the sun and the flowers once done and dry in my computer I used different fonts for the lettering and printed in regular copy paper then I glue each piece to the canvas with matte medium and cover the entire panel with matte medium. dry I used pitt big brush markers to shade. I add the 3D paper flowers and the butterflies and shade them. At the end I used glossy accents for the butterflies.
I hope you like it and remember always that Happiness is all around us.
It has been a month since I made a post and a year since last time I made a real painting. Last time was the day my grandma died, I was finishing a painting and for some reason life got busy and I had different priorities. Finally the day to return to my real true love has come and with the person I love the most after my parents and my own family, Grandma.
She was an amazing person and I was thinking about doing this for a long time as a tribute to her, but I was so afraid of the challenge I had never paint a person in my life. I got a book about portraits in watercolor and I watch several videos on You Tube (I love I can learn any thing there), and then I just did it.
click on the play button so you can see the painting in progress.
As you can see I used a picture to guide me.
Wow, I did not know I could do something like this, it is not perfect but I am so please with the result.
It feels so good to paint again.
Have a wonderful week
I made some hangers for the cloths I made for the dolls. They are so easy that my 8 year old girls helped me with this project.
I used 18 gauche wire and a plastic hanger as a guide.
I traced the hanger in a piece of scrap wood, then I nailed some nails around the shape inside and outside.
Then I start by curling the end of a wire 24" long.
With the help of a wood row I made the shape of the hanging part.
I used the center of the top in between the nails and shape my way around the guide.
At the end I curled the wire around like a real hanger and adjust the shape of the Hangers.
I hope you like my frugal way to make hangers for dolls.
Last December I start learning to crochet and one of the things that pop up all the time was amigurumi crochet, so i decided to give it a try.
This one was one of the first once I made and as you can see by that time I didn't have idea about the right and wrong side of amigurumi. the pattern is from here.
For the mouse I use this pattern as a base
For this one I learn from a Japanese designer so cool and she explain about the right and wrong side of amigurumi crochet.
This is Mr Dude, call by my husband, after I gave it to him for his office.
Have a nice weekend
Hi I need to explain what is this about a store and my idea about all that doll cloth sewing and crafts.
First for a long time I was having a hard time getting inspired to create and the idea of taking my sewing supplies out was kind of unexcited then one day I was thinking on a way to help my children to get better at school and with Christmas coming I got the idea of making a store so the girls can go and shop what they want with out me just making presents for free.
The concept is that because noting is free in real life they need to pay for the stuff they want and the way I found that works better for me was to keep a record for every 100% they get at school is a point and for every 10 100%'s I gave them a surprise, and that works really good for the last 3 years and now I change it and for every 100% they get one DC$ dollars (DarletteCraft Dollars).
On Christmas eve after our spiritual program we open our family presents that are always hand made and after that at the end I give my children a card as a present in where I explain the idea about the store and how many DC$ each one had., then we went down to my studio where I set up a store.
I made 86 articles and they shoppe 40. The store will open once a month and will have new items each time plus the left overs.
Excuse my spieling, I really know how to spell shoes I just did not pay attention when I made the sign.
And here you can see the doll area on the playroom.
Have a nice long weekend
